Travel Light ... Love God

We are getting close to packing time! So I will post about carry-on baggage today, then checked luggage and then a packing list. I feel like there should be a prize for the lightest traveler. Let me think about that ...

Just so everyone knows ... this is what the airline is saying about carry-on baggage. We would like to strive for easy, stress-free travel! So lets plan ahead for easy boarding. If we are well within the rules then all will be good. Truly, we really will not need that much stuff...and it will be fun to live without it. Minimalize!

Cabin Carry-On Baggage

Since we are traveling in economy class, they will allow one piece of luggage free of charge with a maximum weight of 7kg (that is 15lbs for the old school folks).

Please note (this is important!!)

• The baggage must fit in the over-head rack or under the passenger’s seat.
• The sum of the three dimensions (L+W+H) shall not exceed (23 x 40 x 55 cm)

This last point is stressed (over-and-over) by the airline.

Ok, there is more:

Each of us can take (free) these carry on items, but they can’t weigh more than 5kg or 11lbs in total. 

• A handbag, pocketbook or purse, which is not being used for articles that would otherwise be regarded as baggage.
• Laptop
• An overcoat, wrap or blanket.
• A small camera and/or a pair of binoculars.
• A reasonable amount of reading material for the flight.

Liquid, Gels & Pastes in Carry-on Baggage:

·         No more than 100 ml per container; containers over 100 ml are not allowed

·         Maximum total capacity of 1000 ml

·         Must be placed comfortably in one transparent and re-sealable plastic bag (bag dimensions should not exceed 20 x 20 cm or 8 x 8 inches).

·         You are required to produce your clear transparent bag separately for security screening.

General rules for carry-on baggage:

The following items are prohibited (place in checked baggage if required):

• Knives (including hunting knives, swords (Gord– NO swords!) & pocket knives)
• Scissors and any other sharp/bladed objects (e.g. ice-pick, nail clippers)
• Weapons
• Toy guns/gun shaped items, hand-cuffs
• Sporting equipment
• Spare Lithium Batteries (see details below if placing in checked baggage)
• Power banks (see details below if placing in checked baggage)

...the best thing you can take is the Love God pours into you....the best thing you bring home is the Love God poured into you.
