We have been planning to have a Youth Camp for about five months now, it’s time for it! Just a few days now before you come.
Rorya Diocese has been conducting youth Camps for more than two years since its inception in 2010. During this time, youth from Parishes come together to learn the word of God, share the Gospel and have biblical oriented games to expose them to know the Kingdom of God. We are now joining hands to share our culture with you, exchanging our spiritual understanding with yours with the single meaning “Sharing the Gospel with others.”
As youth Chairman in Rorya Diocese and Youth Coordinator in Tanzania Lake zone and west regions of Anglican Church of Tanzania, it’s my pleasure to welcome you all in Rorya and Tanzania.

Welcome also to Rorya Diocese. Let me write now to encourage you.
We are believers and followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that He was born, died and on third day He was risen. So, our great task together is to go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. We must make sure we complete our tasks as we were commanded by Jesus Christ, (Mark 16:15). This was an order, not an option. We have been ordered to ‘Go’ so any believer and follower of Jesus Christ must go and complete this task; this is our great commission.
It’s now time for us, every one of us to do their job to make sure the Gospel is known to every creature in the universe. By doing so we will be carrying on the great commission. The world will be reached by the Word of God so that every creature will be reached by the Gospel, Now is the right time. Now is our time. As Christians in this 21st Century we have a task of spreading the Gospel to all cultures around the world.
As you prepare for our time in Africa together, what you have to put in your mind is that you are coming for God's great commission. You share in God's great commission as you claim your place following Jesus. This is not just a vacation, youth camp or visit to Africa. Make this trip a historical moment in your life. Prepare something to share to different people in Rorya; especially youth. You may be not have much time to preach in church, but you will be having much time to stay with and talk to people in Parishes. You will meet God's lost children on roads and in public areas. Share with them. Learn from them. Pray now and hear what God is putting into you for this historical time, our time in Africa.

While completing this assignment we must also know that when spreading the Gospel to every creature there are costs, some expenditures we must incur. Saul was denied even by the disciples (Act 9:26-29) but because he knew who he was and what his task was, the Bible says that he spoke boldly in the Name of the Lord Jesus. The Bible tells us this took courage. When Paul disputed against the Hellenists, they attempted to kill him. In Act 16:22, we find Paul and Silas being jailed because of carrying the great commission. There are many examples of costs and persecution to those who tried to carry out the great commission. The Bible promises cost not comfort. The Bible promises complications not convenience.
How have you positioned yourself to complete this great task to the world? How have you prepared yourself for our time in Africa? You will need to travel, eat and sleep here with us - it is not like Canada. Share our life here so you can remember it and share it when you return to Canada. We have worked hard to meet your needs socially and economically. It is time now to pray to be prepared spiritually, I am praying that your trip to carry this great commission to Rorya will be just a start for an endless job in your life. Our time is only the start. Open your heart to God's work in you.
While in Rorya, you will find different people, locations and things will shock you about our culture. I know some of you have been in Africa (Tanzania). Mostly Howard and Cathy are very familiar with Kowak and Rorya at large. They have much knowledge to guide you. They are very loved by us here. Perhaps, Callum (who is a great expert on Kowak, especially he is the first Mzungu to reach the top of Rorya Mountain and he is the first to fly the drone from the mountain) will tell you things. He knows how to have fun and live here even when he cannot speak. He is good at playing and having fun. He can share this with you. We welcome you to Kowak. Karibu sana.
With this letter I am opening the door to anyone who is ready for Great Commission to come in Rorya and share the Gospel with the unreached communities. I am praying that God protects you, your families, friends and that He works to provide all we need and all we will do for this trip.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
